Skrillex + Mau5trap = Top 100 Dj 2011

Disclaimer:  Now let's not get it twisted at first because I would like to say this before I vent, and that is, I have all the respect in the world, and enjoy Skrillex's music very much.  That being said.  The smartest thing that this Producer/ Dj could have done was go on tour with Deadmau5, and sign a deal with Mau5trap.  I appreciate the new releases, but in my mind there is only 1 maybe 2 songs that should grace the top 10 on Beatport.  They have been lingering up there for a couple weeks now, and it is ruining other artists opportunities on the charts like Umek, Beltek, Wolfgang Gartner, and Porter Robinson to name a few.  Don't get me wrong I think there is plenty of room in the Electro House top 100 for the rest of his tracks, but when does hanging out with someone get you all the pull in the Industry.  The new music definitely has the awesome signature heavy synth riffs and melodic build-ups, but come on followers... if Deadmau5 toured with Hypercrush I guarantee that they Bulletproof would be #1 on beatport at this point.  Ok this ends my amazement and I have vented, so please enjoy these tracks because they are pretty awesome!

Ps Sofi Needs a Ladder overtook Skrillex on Beatport, and I think that song is garbage compared to anything in the Top 35.  Get Mr. White's remix and you will get a good track.  Love me or Hate me, I just said what was on everyone's mind.

Porter Robinson Review

After dropping the shit out of Robinson's tracks, I figured my esteemed colleague Mr. Nicky Nines would have covered this post by now (as he usually does), but he is old and becomes forgetful. It's understandable. Therefore,  if you have been keeping up on the blogosphere world, chances are you have heard of Porter. At only 18 years young (yes I said 18) he is already topping the Beatport charts and getting must deserved respect from the likes of Miles Dyson, Dirtyloud, and many others. With Wolfgang Gartner being a huge influence to Robinson, you can definitely notice the complex style they both share. His massive electro hooks, dirty dubstep wobbles and soothing trance style breakdowns all make one fan-fucking-tastic combination. Keep an eye out for Porter as he will be touring the US this fall. Ill let the tracks do the rest of the talking...

You know you love it, haha.  Well we are dedicating this post to the Trouble and the Bass.  Everyone enjoys a little wonky-ness every once in a while, so I hope you enjoy this remix collection.  The songs are all 320, but are off a mix so most start into the song a wee little bit.  For all you Dj's, I know it sucks, but for all you guys who just wanna listen, it cuts out the slow stuff and starts rocking immediately, for those of you looking to check out Jack Beats in Los Angeles they will be at Hard Halloween on the 31st.  Their new track "Shutterbug" may spin you a little bit, but that's only if you have not heard the Techy side of Jack Beats.  Personally I think it's a genius track.  They defended this song recently via Facebook to a few fans that were pissed calling them sell-outs by responding in a humble manner that I hope shut up the haters.  You can't expect every Dj to spin the same song over and over again; otherwise there would never be any progression, so for those of you kids out there who think good Dj's are only Dj's that play YOUR favorite tracks... you need to chiggity check yourself, haha.

REVIEW: Control @ Avalon 8/13 - Valerna, Harvard Bass, Wolfgang Gartner, and Skrillex

WOW. What an absolutely massive night it was on Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood. Upon showing up somewhere around 9:45 in our 65 person party bus, the line was already half way down the block. After fighting through the crowd we finally made it in just in time to see Valerna close and Harvard Bass open. From that point on the night was complete mayhem. The club was so damn hot from the utter chaos that half the place was shirtless and drenched in sweat by midnight.  The floor was absolutely packed, balconies on every side were overflowing with people and even the stage itself was wall to wall with people. And then it happened... Wolfgang Gartner took that place to the moon and back. The energy and amount of people getting absolutely filthy was like nothing I had ever seen before at the Avalon.  I could go on and on about how epic it was but I think this video below (be sure to watch it in 720p HD) will do more justice. Try to make it to the end without cracking a huge smile or getting the chills...
