"After massive blog exposure, multiple number 1 tracks on Hype Machine, record label interest and international gig offers, Roman went into reclusion. While his music continued to spread and build popularity, the Toronto-based artist had seemingly disappeared. Hints of his whereabouts were whispered in the dance community – November, Brodinski’s chart features a track called “Save Us” (John Roman Nigerian Dub) by Nadastrom; December, ElectroTO’s “Producing for Presents” EP features an unreleased original John Roman track “Sing!” which is pulled from the site after a week; January, a mysterious remix of Proxy’s “8000” starts appearing in virtually all of Congorock’s sets; February, rumors begin about a mixtape of unreleased John Roman tracks called “Reclusion”; March, Roman’s remix of Smalltown Romeo’s “Boom Ha” appears on Plant Music’s Scion A/V sampler; April, NT89 charts “Coma” by John Roman in his Resident Advisor Chart; May, Discobelle Records release “Save Us” (John Roman Nigerian Dub) in Neoteric’s Turned On Vol. 1 compilation; June, the rumors are confirmed – “Reclusion” arrives."
